Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs 7/30/09

Proverbs 30:32
If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

We have used this proverbs as a refrence in our child training. Typically, it has been used when a child is speaking foolishly. I will review this verse with them as well as many others. We will talk about bridling our tongue and the dangers of not doing so. If they continue to refuse wisdom, I will ask them to sit on the couch with their hand over their mouth. I don't think I have had to do this but maybe three times in the last 21 years of parenting. It is a good visual for the entire family and a very hands on way to remember the Truth written in this proverb.

With much love,
Mrs. Joseph Wood
