Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs- Proverbs 13:10

Proverbs 13:10 “Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.”

Pride has such a devastating result; it leads to conflicts and it slams the door shut to our hearts for instruction and reproof. When a child is caught in their pride, their first response is stubbornness. It is not until they suffer the consequences of their pride that they may turn to understanding and repentance. Note the words “may turn to understanding” because pride has a horribly strong hold on each of our hearts. And when we cling to pride in our sin, we refuse advice, correction and repentance. Is the LORD working with you in this area? It is a lesson He teaches me when I least expect it. You see, we don’t always see the pitfall of becoming prideful; but we can be thankful that if we are wearing the skin of pride, the Holy Spirit will reveal this sin to us in a very pungent punch at just the right moment. Dear ones, when you are made aware of your pride, don’t resist correction; submit with a humble heart and God will restore your relationship. We walk this journey together; let us hold one another accountable to walk upright.
