Good Morning Friends!
I know the blog has been quiet. I have heard from a couple of you checking in on us. All is well in the Wood household. We are enjoying a precious friendship visit with a dear Sister from CA. Last Monday, my Joe awoke me to the smell of coffee. He whispered in my ear, “Come into the Living Room and you might want to get yourself ready for the day before you do.” What a surprise to walk in and see my dear friend, Cheryl sitting on my couch… What an answer to prayer!
Cheryl and I met many years ago, I think it was 10-11 years ago, through a homeschool co-op class. We were to team teach a group of 30 or so elementary home school students geography. Our country to present was Mexico. I can still remember the busy days preparing for that class and the almost disaster tortilla making that Cheryl rescued! That was the moment a sweet friendship blossomed and it has continued to grow ever since. Through so many different seasons of life we have prayed for one another and encouraged each other. Loving one another for who we are in Christ and not what we do or how we live has always been a treasure in our relationship.
Pro 17:17 A friend loveth at all times
We have done absolutely NOTHING very exciting. I am determined to get a batch of cheese and bread made for her today before she leaves on Wed. We have enjoyed some shops in KC, got lost and almost ended up in Iowa, went to see the movie, Toy Story 3, with all the children and my Joe. We’ve ate way more points than WW allows for a day and shared our hearts through it all. It’s been a blessing to have a friend in my home that I felt so comfortable with that I didn’t have to entertain. I could just be me, with no make up, just my farm apparel, coffee and endless chit chat! I have been blessed!
Sunday, we will welcome another Christian family into our home, the Kennedy Family. God is faithful to give us friendship visits through this journey of life when we faithfully wait for His leading. I guess that’s what makes friendship visits such a treasure- we know that they were ordained by God and so we completely enjoy each moment! They give us joy for the journey, strengthen us through the trials, and love us through the hardships. Friendship visits- just one of the many blessings from the Father!
Pro 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Sounds wonderful!!! Enjoy the sweet fellowship!
