Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

Real Moments- Resurrection Celebration

Hello Friends!
Our Resurrection Celebration was blessed. I hope you all had a wonderful, JOY filled weekend as you celebrated our Risen Lord! We had a beautiful service here at home with family. We took communion together, shared our hearts, our blessings, and heard the Word read! Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious meal of Lamb (one of our pasture raised lambs), rice pilaf, cherry jello salad (it was so easy and fresh tasting!) and green beans. I was going to make some Challah bread but completely forgot until I was ready to dish up the plates. The children colored and hunted eggs even though we don't do any "Easter bunny". The children enjoy the eggs really as a fun game and creative expression. Even the "big kids" enjoy the egg coloring; their creativity is unlimited. Elisha colored an egg that was simply beautiful with a cross on it, Bekah made one that she called "eggberta" and gave careful instructions to all the little ones to be gentle when playing with her. This was our first year to use glow in the dark paint on the eggs. The children had so much fun painting all types of funny expressions on their eggs and then turning all the lights off to see them light up. They hope to gather with friends soon and hunt eggs in the dark.

One of the other highlights of our day was Elisha's homemade ice cream. He made a batch with his electric mixer and then one with his hand crank ice cream maker. I think it is always much more fun to make ice cream by hand than with the electric turner.. it just seems simple and reminds me of days when the little things were seen as some of the most cherished. This year, he made us a batch of Chocolate banana (grandma Connie's recipe), Strawberry and Vanilla. It was delicious!

Well, Beth-Joy just brought me a sandwich, Lamb with pineapple on a sprouted wheat bagel. I also have a cup of that home made strawberry ice cream I was just chatting with you about. Oh... so yummy!

Until our next chat...
Mrs. Joseph Wood
