Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment with M.O.M.- Are you Ready?

105Spring is almost here, are you ready?

It’s 8:45, Church is about to start, are you ready?

As the young woman prepared to walk down to aisle her father said, “Are you ready?”

Everywhere around us people are asking or being asked, “are you ready?” Are your ready to give your presentation? ready for the baby you’re expecting? ready for your dinner date? and the list could go on. However, the most important moment in History is about to take place and yet I don’t hear people rushing around the streets, not even calling their friends and family to ask, “Are you ready?”

Ready for what you ask?

Are you ready for the second coming of the Lord?

Several years ago I had a dream where I was with an angel and we were rushing around from door to door as I was pounding on doors and exclaiming, “Get ready! Get Ready, get ready, get ready!” I was frantic trying to get to everyone in time… I was very aware that time was running out. I had only a brief moment to plead with people to be ready for the return of the Lord! I awoke from my dream. It was in the wee hours of the morning and immediately I called my husband who was working the night shift. I shared with him, we prayed together and then we agreed that we would help each other keep our eyes fixed on Christ instead of this ever distracting world. I woke my older children and asked them, “are you ready?” They replied, “Ready for what Mommy?” as they rubbed their sleepy eyes. I explained to them my dream and told them it was so important to mommy that they were ready for the return of the Lord. We talked about His return with excitement and went back to sleep for the rest of the night. The next day we talked about how we might be able to help others be ready. We talked about living out our faith in front of others, being an example, judging ourselves and not others and then…. then we came up with a fun and creative idea that we did up until our move to KS. We would all agree that we would ask 5 people every day if they were ready for the Lord’s return. If they said yes, we would tell them what we were doing and ask them to prayerfully consider asking five people each day too. If they didn’t know if they were ready we would ask if we could share more with them. We’ve had a variety of responses over the years. Many of the people we still continue to pray for. Some we ended up being blessed to build a relationship with them. We’ve prayed with others and even been able to buy one man his very first Bible. That was quite an honor!

I don’t know why we forgot about this when we moved. I was reminded of this a few days ago and decided that it was still a profitable habit for us to get back into. SO… I guess you’d say this blog entry is my question to you…. ARE YOU READY? Really Ready for the return of the Lord?

If you answered yes, I would like to encourage you to prayerfully consider sharing on your blog… consider taking on the challenge that we do as a family and ask 5 people every day.

If you answered no or you’re not sure. Would you take a moment to write me so I could share with you the Hope that lies within me? Would you allow me to share with you about the never ending love that the Creator has for YOU? I would be honored if you would allow me such an opportunity.

May the streets ring out with HIS people proclaiming to all, “Get ready, get ready, GET READY!”

With much love,

Mrs. Joseph Wood
