Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment In Proverbs: Proverbs 13:14

Proverbs 13:14,
“The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”

When we walk by the law of wise council and righteousness we chose to walk in life. Through the Word of God we receive all that is needed to reach our potential in Christ Jesus.  We find our purpose and we reap a harvest for the Kingdom of God.  God’s Word and the wisdom that is gained from His word is a fountain of life to all who will seek its living water.  The closer we walk to Him the more sure our footsteps are as we face trials and endure hardships.  His Word becomes a constant comfort and peace in every circumstance life has to offer. As we partake of this fountain of life, we are preserved from the temptations of sin, even though sin will continue to try and ensnare us, we will have all that is needed to overcome that temptation, if we drink from this fountain of life.

Brothers and Sister, we will never reach a point in this life that sin will not seek our fall; we will never have a day that sin is asleep, but we will always have the Holy Spirit within us to confront, resist and have victory over sin. As children of God, we are no longer captive to sin; but we are free in Christ Jesus and through Him we no longer must pay the wages of sin (Romans 6:22-23).

Prayer: Oh, LORD, How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God; the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. LORD, continue thy loving kindness unto those that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. Teach us to draw from the fountain of life for all of our needs and keep us from the snares that wait to entrap us.  In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Abiding Still,
