Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs: Proverbs 3:5

Proverbs 3:5

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Sometimes we don’t understand the plans of the LORD. But we can be sure if we put our heart’s trust in Him we will not fall. If we keep our focus to trust in Him and seek His Word, we will not be turned away. When we seek after His heart, then the desires of our heart will follow. If we commit our way unto the LORD He will bring forth those things within us that we cannot do on our own. If we rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him, then we will see His glory!

Let us not be deceived by our own understanding for it is foolishness with God. He knows our thoughts and He will not spare His discipline if you do not seek after His heart rather than your own. Remember He is a loving father and He wishes that none will perish, but He will not allow us to go our own way without consequences paid. So seek after Him and put aside your own understanding; for He will make clear His leading in His perfect timing.

Prayer: Father, do not let me lean on my own understanding. Correct me when I foolishly try to find a way that is not inspired by you. LORD, as we come to your Word this day, teach us more about you. Cause our hearts to hunger after you and develop in us a trust that is blinded to all that would turn us away. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

  1. I read Proverbs 3 this morning and got A LOT out of it. Proverbs 3:5-6 has always been one of my grandmother's favorite verses :).

I liked this verse because of what I am currently going through and how easily it is to relate to. After the accident we have to do all this stuff for insurance, and they are seeing how much my car is worth. I still owed over 5000 on it - so we are praying that my insurance will at least cover that.

There are a lot of giants facing me right now - but its all in how i choose to look at it. I can either fully trust God, and depend on Him - or I can choose to freak out because there are giants facing me. I choose to trust God and to know that in His perfect will He has already worked out all of these plans. I must simply put my trust in Him.

    God is good :)

  2. Its the waiting patiently part that I am working on. He has amazing ways of leading and guiding us but sometimes my excitement moves me before He has designed...So glad that He is in control and helps me to pull back to the path that He wants for me.

Thanks for doing this! Its been a busy week, I am sorry I didn't get by till now.

Praying for your Mom and her recovery!

    Have a wonderful weekend, friend!

    Blessings!
