Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs- 4: 25

Proverbs 4:25, “Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.”

This passage reminds me of the horses I’ve seen racing or pulling the wagons of passengers. They have blinders on so that they will keep their eyes to the road. This enables them to not be distracted from their goal and keeps them surefooted about their duty. Oh, how we need blinders! So many times we go about our work for our families, church and community and we get distracted by the things that entice us to go this way or that and we find in the end that we are exhausted, our peace is depleted and our decision making is lacking.

I encourage you to seek ye first the kingdom of God as you enter your day. Ask God to put the blinders on so that you are not distracted by this world and all the pitfalls waiting to ensnare you. Do not look to the left or the right…look straight ahead to the finish line, endure the race set before you, keep your eyes on Jesus (see Hebrews 12:1-3).

Abiding Still
