Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs- Proverbs 6:23

imagesCA1YBWX2 Pro 6:23: “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life”

The LORD provides us with visual images throughout His Word to help us to understand His intent; in this verse we’re given the lamp and light to compare to His commandments and the law of His Word. As we take His Word into our lives we grow in wisdom and store up the treasures offered. Just as a lamp holds the wick and oil for the light needed as shadows overtake the day; so is His Word as we are faced with trials, accountabilities, and ministering to others. The light or the laws of His Word are those things we learn that feed the flame of our hearts so that others will have the light of his law and the light of understanding.

Remember as you go through this day that His Word should go with you where ever you go; just as you would carry a lamp into a darkened room; we too enter the world lost in darkness and we have both the lamp and the light they need.

Abiding Still.

  1. Oh yes!!! This is so true! I am talking about the same thing...in a different way over at Seeds of Encouragement this month. I would love for you to stop by and visit sometime when you get the chance. I am learning so much right now about how memorizing scripture as an adult can really change not only your thought life but your life! I feel so blessed at the challenge I am working on. Thank you for your encouragement and confirmation this morning!

God bless you and your sweet family!
