Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs- Proverbs 25:21

Proverbs 25:21, "If thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink."

Have you ever been offended? Often our first response is lashing out, but God’s Word reminds us to minister instead of destroy.

The words “feed him” signify feeding cheerfully and tenderly. If we approach those who offend us with this attitude, we begin mending with a sweet healing balm before revenge can take hold. We are reminded elsewhere in God’s Word (Colossians 3:12-17) that God’s chosen people are to be clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. We are to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another.

Friends the only way this is possible is if we let the word of Christ dwell in us to teach, encourage and admonish one another in wisdom. Let us extend the tender hand when offended. And finally, let us remember that how we respond, may be the turning point in that person’s life and there is much more to gain through grace than through justification.

  1. Wow, thanks for sharing this. I am walking through this in my own life right now. The line "how we respond, may be the turning point in that person’s life" really hit home. Thank you so much.
