Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs- Proverbs 22: 6

Proverbs 22:6 “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”

While working with mentoring programs in our community for many years; we had a motto for our network of mentor moms; "Because they don't come with instructions"...indicating the child born to us didn't come with instructions on how to raise them. But, there is an entire book on instructions if we know where to look. We simply need to begin with teaching them as instructed in Deuteronomy 11:19 "And ye shall teach them (the laws of the Lord) to your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."

There is so much for us to glean from God's word concerning raising our children. Our basic principal is to teach them of God's love, training in righteousness, and correction when needed. God's Word is profitable for our instruction! Next time you're struggling with how to raise your children, you need only to read the many testimonies within God's Word and be consistent with training them from God’s Word.
