Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs- Proverbs 21: 3

Proverbs 21:3 “To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

I love reading Proverbs and seeing how much Solomon learned from his father and from the elders of the congregation. I especially love this passage as a reminder to me that God desires a contrite heart that is willing to be taught and willing to submit (see Psalms 51:17). My friends, obedience and submission are better than any sacrifices of heart or spirit we can bring before the LORD. If we look to our children we can see when they are submitting their will to what is right and we can see when their stubbornness is making them hard. Let us seek to have hearts that are pliable in the hands of our King.
