Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs- Proverbs 18:15

Proverbs 18:15

“The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.”

Many times while traveling to or from someplace we see signs on the side of the road telling us there is “Road Work Ahead”.  Sometimes, these work zones are empty of people and other times, one or two men or women may be found alongside of the road doing touch up work; then other times we find massive equipment, cars, and a crew of workers diligently working as they cross our paths and bring us to a halt in our journey.  Reflecting on this common-day occurrence in our lives, we can correlate our own journey with the LORD.  Often times we’re moving along without any interference; at other times one or two people come into our lives to challenge us, then there are those times we are stopped in our tracks as mighty work is being done in our lives and our relationships with God and those God has brought into our lives.  As you think on the journey you are traveling; are you experiencing the smooth passage or is your pace slowed or brought to a halt and you find that you have much to learn before you can move forward?
Reflect on these words from Proverbs and remember that a wise man is ready to learn; so keep your eyes and ears open as you go through this journey; there will be much to learn as you engage in the “Road Work Ahead”.
Prayer:  We come before you this day while our hearts are quiet.  Lord, the road work you are doing in our lives may yet be discovered, but we have this confidence, that you are working for us and through us.  Lord, guide our footsteps as we enter this day and create in us hearts that seek after your heart.  Make us effective in your many opportunities of ministry.  In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
Abiding Still,

  1. What a blessing this has been to me this morning. It sure spoke to me. I feel like I am right there in the road work and that is fine, as long as it is God in control.
    Thanks for sharing,
