Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

Real Moments with M.O.M.

Hello Friends!!
I love watching my children play and explore the property the Lord has given us. Often I will take them out in the woods and we will gather wild plants for our use here in the home. We sing, laugh and often find wonderful creatures or rocks we have never seen before. I am aching for Spring to burst forth and chase away the winter. This winter has been so cold and wet. Even my barn animals seem to be aching for Spring to arrive. The grass has not yet come up, we are eager to see those first blades break through the soil offering nutrients to my pasture raised friends!

Joe has been busy building birth pens in the barn for our goats and sheep that will be giving birth soon! They look amazing! I am so excited about how nicely it is coming along. He is also building me a heated milk room, what a treat that will be for our KS winters. The chickens are getting a new pasture this Spring. Our bucks and rams will have a new pasture and pen as well. The boys are going to make a log cabin pen for them out of the lumber we cut down last year. everyone is excited to see how it turns out. I will post pictures of the process. I do have some pictures of the new chicken coop and grazing area. I will have to get those uploaded to share.

School is going well. My mother gave me such a sweet reminder this week. I was sharing with her how I often feel like a late bloomer to God. I must be one of His slowest learners. In fact, the other day I was praying about it and asking Him why it seems to take me so much time to learn. Momma asked me if the Lord answered me. "No!" I replied. She then said, "He probably just smiled and said when you learn isn't what's important. It's that you do learn." Momma then reminded me how I don't have deadline dates for my children to learn this task or that task. We talked about how much failure a child could feel if they always felt they weren't making the mark. God does the same thing with us. He lets each of us learn at our own pace. He encourages us in our abilities and doesn't condemn us for our lacking. He is the faithful and patient Good Teacher. I was so blessed by that conversation! I know how easy it is for us as parents to feel like our children are behind in their learning or developing. I know the guilt we can feel, the worry that we can carry. What a wonderful reminder of the importance of Grace in Learning!

That's all about my home for now. At this very moment, I have the bacon sizzling and the whole wheat, home made bread coming out of the oven. Two of my very favorite smells!

Have a wonderful week Friends!!

My real moment photo this week comes from a snapshot that Bekah took of my Sammy and I walking hand in hand. His new word right now is "Mother". He loves to start each question and comment to me with, "Mother" in the most adorable, grown up, big boy voice you could ever imagine. Lord help me remmeber these days for I am richly blessed!

  1. I absolutely love your updates. Your home is so full of life - not just the children - but goats, sheep, bucks and rams!

We have some spring fever here too - I can't wait till the children can trade in their snow boots for crocs and go rolling down the hill! Those days will be here shortly - until then we savor the last bits of snow on the ground that we may not see until next winter - they are beautiful too.

    Have a great day!
