Since today is my birthday I thought it was only right to give thanks to my parents. No matter how old we grow we can never grow numb to the need to give thanks to our parents for all they have invested in us. I know there are many of you who do not have parents who are serving the Lord. I realize that there are many who do not have a close relationship with their parents. I know that my relationship with my parents is a treasure, a true gift from the Lord! Let me encourage you when I share that we weren’t always so close! The Lord has truly restored what the locust had eaten- and more! God is a God of restoration. Seek Him! He will direct you in how to honor Him with your relationship to your parents.
With that said, let me tell you that I enjoy a precious relationship with both of my parents and for that I am ever thankful to the Lord! I know that my mom loves to stop in at the blog and read. She was telling me just last week that she gets frustrated because her computer won’t let her post comments to the blog entries. I smiled when she told me. She delights in me like I delight in each one of my children! There are times that her and daddy both visit the blog before they start their day and then call me and we talk about all the other activities in the home that time simply doesn’t allow to be written. As their daughter I enjoy being in their presence, hearing their words of wisdom and laughing with them over the silliest of things! I love having them involved in my life and my children’s. I am truly blessed!
So… thank you Daddy and Momma! I appreciate you more than words can ever express! Thank you for loving me consistently and always leading me to the Lord! I thank God for you continually!
I love you!
This photo was taken last year in the Spring. Since this time Momma has discovered she has cancer. Breast Cancer, Kidney Cancer and signs of Uterine Cancer. She has undergone one of the needed surgeries and has started radiation treatment just this week. If the Lord should bring her to mind, please pray for her and for daddy as they walk through this valley with defiant Joy! If you would like to keep up to date with what is happening with Momma and the heart work that God is doing through this process you can follow her blog at: http://www.whatfriendsdo.com/ and search for the team name Connie Renfro. If you have trouble logging in, let me know.
With much love,
Mrs. Joseph Wood
