Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment with MOM- "The answer is D.. all of the above" or is it?

Good Morning Friends!
First, let me say thank you for all the notes these last few weeks! I am blessed! It is good to hear of so many women who are striving to create homes that please the Lord.

So... let's chat...
At the first of the year, I had posted a poll on the site asking what you thought your greatest challenge in the home was. It was interesting, but not surprising, that the majority felt it was "all of the above". So many times we can feel utterly and totally overwhelmed by our duties at home. We have been fashioned perfectly to meet the needs of our family and yet we tend to forget that in the rush of the day. Many of us have a list of daily duties that looks more like a 1200 page bill congress is trying to pass than any to do list a mother and wife should have! We have children we are leading to the Lord, husbands we are being helpmeets too, extended family we are caring for, bills we are juggling, doctor appointments we are making, school lessons we are giving, bible studies we are attending,  church meetings we are assisting with, and the list could go on and on.... It is easy for us to ditch the entire list in frustration rather than evaluate where we need to grow, what are priorities should be, and what we need to eliminate! I am sure some of you are shaking your head and saying, "No, Jeanette, really.... my struggle is 'all the above'!" I am sure you feel that way, but the truth is God doesn't make mistakes! He knitted you in your mothers womb, created you, fashioned you perfectly for today and tomorrow and the next day after that! He gave you life experiences, skills, and talents to make you the perfect one to minister to your household! So, with that in mind, let's take a look at our day through His eyes! Let's put aside all the things that simply keep us busy and only take up His burden...for it is light!

Lord willing, this next month I will be sharing tips, answering questions, and sharing my thoughts on our ministry in the home. If you have a specific question feel free to email me so I can include it with the others I am answering!

With much love,
Mrs. Joseph Wood

  3. I praise God for the resources He uses so that we can touch the lives of others! I am blessed as I consider all the wonderful people the Lord has used in my life over the years. Courtney, you are precious! You always bring a smile to my day when you write! Heather, you are a blessing! I look forward to sharing with everyone as He allows!

How fun it was to see that He was allowing me to share with others in languages I have never even spoken. For those of you that are rusty on your Chinese, I thought I would post the translation of the last comment for you here:

知道 = know, realize and am aware of what you mean

謝謝你的分享,祝你生活永遠多彩多姿 = Thank you for sharing I wish you fun and excitement of living forever.

Thank you to each of you that take time to write, ask questions, and share His work in your life with me. I am both humbled and honored that He has allowed our paths to cross!

    With much love,
    Mrs. Joseph Wood
