Proverbs 25: 4
Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.
I am encouraged that it is God who carefully removes the dross from us. Zechariah 13: 9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God!
When God allows us to be tested, to go through times of intense training, it is always for the sole purpose of our good and His glory. To bring us into a relationship of intimacy where we say, "The Lord is my God" and He recognises us, claims us, as His people!
When we train our children it must be done in the same intense love and desire for a very real relationship with our children. Not done out of impatience, frustration or selfishness. Make sure you are taking the time to really consider what is best for your children. Double check yourself and make sure you are not responding to them out of frustration because they interrupted what you were doing.
Next time you find yourself going through the fire, take comfort! God loves you with an incredible love and only desires to see His glory revealed through you!
