Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs 7/25/09

Proverbs 25: 17

Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbor’s house; least he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

This proverbs reminds of me of Grandmother. Grandma would often say, "Company is like fish after three days they start to stink." Now please note that my Grandmother loved to show hospitality and was known for always, and I do mean always, having some kind of dessert ready for any guests that might drop by. In fact, she wouldn't just have one dessert she would have two or three to choose from! Yet Grandma was always reminding us not to overstay our welcome. She wanted us to understand that in order to cultivate genuine, time lasting relationships we should follow this proverbs.

Children can get excited about 'new' friends and desire to spend great lengths of time with them. As the parents we need to share the Truth in this verse and help our children understand how God has given us warning about spending too much time with someone. Friendships that do not following Godly principals will soon be dissolved or lead to problems. Treasure your friendship, guard them and develop them in a way that brings God glory!

With much love,

Mrs. Joseph Wood
