Proverbs 25:13,
“As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refreshes the soul of his masters.”
Friends, we are messengers of this great message left to us to share with those who are in the dark concerning eternal life through Christ. God uses willing servants to spread the knowledge of Christ. Those who are saved take the knowledge and learn, apply, and mature; but those who are lost perceive the message differently until the Holy Spirit makes His way into their hearts.
What message are you carrying? It is important to be faithful messengers that bring refreshment to those who are thirsty. We are to bring truth from His Word, not our own doctrine. A solemn warning is spoken in the Gospel of Matthew 5:17-19, that reminds us that we must not change the message; but we must deliver it intact and as it is written.
As we share the truth with those God brings our way, let us be faithful to use the talents He has given us to be diligent in spreading His story. “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:14-15).
Prayer: Father, do we bring refreshment to the weary soul as we share the Word you have given us? Do we bear the truth before those who have not heard? Are we willing to speak up when the Spirit directs us to share your love? Do we walk in faith that you will fill our mouth and our minds with the Words we have meditated upon? LORD, if we are lacking in any of these areas, then teach us to be faithful messengers of your kingdom so that souls are refreshed, restored, and born into eternal life through Christ Jesus. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
