Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.

A Moment in Proverbs- Proverbs 23: 22

Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old.

Do you teach your children to hearken unto the voice of their Father? As wives and mothers we can easily encourage our children to do so by the way we respond to simple everyday questions. Consider this, when your children are at the store asking for something, even something small like a candy bar, why not say, “Let us ask daddy before we make that purchase. We want to be wise with our money and daddy will be wise to know if that is what God wants for you right now.” This also helps teach children not to be impulsive in their purchases, even if they have their own money to buy it. Teach them to hearken unto the voice of their father and not despise your direction by giving them real and tangible examples of how your instruction/ wisdom is a blessing to their daily life.

The younger children have learned from the older and have been easier to teach since they had their big brother or sister confirming the teachings of their father and mother. The older display hearts tender to our instruction such a beautiful influence they have on their siblings lives. Teach your children while their hearts are tender… you will be blessed by the fruit it bears!

With much love,

Mrs. Joseph Wood
